Solar Panels
Competitive Solar works with and uses many different solar products. This a list of the materials we use the most commonly. However, as a progressive company we are always open to new suggestions that are clients might have.
Nex-Power is a thin film solar manufacturer based in Taiwan. Nex-Power constructs what we believe to be one of the best thin film modules out on the market. The advantage of Nex-Power is their thin film is an amorophous silicon (a-Si). This means like traditional solar panels the semi-conductor is made out of silicon. By having it made out of silicon the panels are the least detrimental to the environment. Other thin film modules are made out of "rare-earth metals," and silicon is the second most common element in the planet's crust. Nex-Power also has more information on thin film over other solar module technology on their website.

Grape Solar is a solar manufacturer from China who has recenly come to the U.S. Grape has setup a headquarters in Eugene, Oregon. Grape Solar manufactures Mono and Poly Crystaline solar modules.
Here's a link to more info on Grape's 180 Watt solar module.

Solar World is a German Company that makes mono and poly crystaline modules. Solar world just opened up a manufacturing plant in Hillsboro, Oregon. Here's a link to their solar products page.
Solyndra is based out of Fremont, California. Solyndra offers an interesting new perspective on commercial solar installations. Utilizing both thin film and lessons learned from the fluorescent light industry. Solyndra's drawback is that it can only be used on large flat roofs. Solyndra has received quite a bit of media attention. Here's a story about Solyndra in Scientific American. Not all roofs work with Solyndra either, only reflective single-ply membrane roofing materials like Duro-Last Roofing materials will work. Both materials are offered with Competitive Solar's parent Company, Competitive Commercial Roofing, Inc.
